Green Mountain shares continue roller coaster ride
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Green Mountain Coffee Roasters shares continued their volatile ride Friday, tumbling 12% to $33.02 in early trading. Green Mountain late Thursday issued a softer fiscal 2011 profit forecast, withdrew guidance for their K-Cup coffee packs, and reported more customers had returned the Keurig one-cup coffee brewing machines. But Vermont-based Green Mountain said it’s ramping up its production to meet demand for its K-Cups and its Keurig brewer machines. The Securities and Exchange Commission is still investigating the accounting practices at Green Mountain, which recently trimmed its prior year profits in a financial restatement.
