Chase Branches Loses FHA Approval

JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., lost its origination approval agreement with the Federal Housing Administration for an office that operates within the jurisdiction of an Atlanta field office, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In addition, a Chase office was terminated by HUD’s New Orleans office. A Chase spokesman declined to comment on the terminations.

Other Servicers Could Suspend Foreclosures

JPMorgan Chase is the latest firm to suspend actions against homeowners in foreclosure — putting the brakes on 56,000 cases nationwide. But South Florida attorneys and mortgage industry executives expect other major lenders to follow. “We know it goes beyond GMAC and JP Morgan, although we don’t necessarily have the depositions yet to support it,” one attorney said.
