Video Shows Maldives Hotel Staff Mocking Swiss Couple’s Wedding Vows
Male, Maldives (AHN) – A hotel staff in Maldives Island humiliated a remarrying Swiss couple during a native wedding rite but the pair was unaware that they were mocked and insulted because they did not understand the local language.
A YouTube video of the nuptial with English subtitles revealed that the Vilu Reef staff called the honeymooners “swine,” “infidels” and other insulting and curse words while the two were praying and renewing their marriage vows.
The hotel’s management has since apologized to the couple for the incident.
Maldives Foreign Minister Ahmed Shaheed and other local officials were shocked upon watching the footage of the wedding. They are now conducting an investigation in an attempt to restore the image of the Indian Ocean nation as a holiday paradise and exclusive honeymoon destination.
Locals in the Muslim country rely heavily on tourists to earn money. Officials fear that the incident may impact the country’s tourism industry.

Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
